About Us

Mevagissey is a small fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall and is popular with holiday makers all year round.

Mevagissey WI currently has 40 members.  It was formed in March 1931 and has been a very active WI over the years, both within the WI and the local community.  It has raised funds for the local Hospices, the Merlin Centre and the Friends of Mevagissey Surgery etc.Those joining have found much fun and friendship and there have been many social and educational opportunities provided by the CFWI (Cornwall Federation WI). There is a bursary available every other year for members to attend one of the Denman College courses.  

Members' talents in craft and cookery have been displayed over the years, in particular in the Royal Cornwall Show Competitions run by the CFWI, winning several times.
