About Us
Ladock is a village in Cornwall, situated approximately six miles (9.5 km) northeast of the city of Truro. It is named after the patron saint of the parish church, St Ladoca.
It was decided to design a banner in her name. St Ladoca was supposed to have sailed across the Irish Sea in a coracle and after wandering around the county, decided to make her abode in the Vale of Ladock.
In 1802, the largest gold nugget found in Cornwall was discovered in the River Ladock and is now in Truro Museum, hence the gold threads running the fabric.
Ladock WI was founded in 1954 and we celebrated our 63rd birthday in February 2017.
